What’s a Rodanthe?

What’s a Rodanthe?

by Pat Martin

A wind chime, mobile, beach strand, garland, hangy thingy….

These one of a kind eclectic strands were inspired in 2010 from watching the Nicholas Sparks movie…Nights in Rodanthe.   In the film there were several seaglass/seashell curtains in the beach house that caught my eye. I could not find any information online about them so I decided to take a crack at making some myself… My sister Jo joined in with me several years later and we have been making Rodanthes ever since.

in December 2019…. I contacted the new owners of the actual Inn at Rodanthe in the Outer Banks NC which led to a meeting and tour of the Inn the following month.  We worked up an agreement and soon after that I had  created a full sliding glass window facing the Atlantic of Rodanthe strands that were later installed in the spring of 2020.
This led to a fun girls trip with a stay at this awesome Inn at Rodanthe
I highly recommend the book, movie and a trip to Rodanthe NC.
